So how's bluesky in recent times?

Posted by Thescrapperonni - 2 hours ago

This question goes out for any newgrounds user that happen to have an account there, how's the site in recent times? what's the stuff that people post on the daily, and more importantly how do people act there, is the site chill or did it turn/in the process of turning into a Twitter 2.0, bad stuff and all?

I'm asking this solely out of curiosity (i'm not really interested in joining that site myself) because after the great giant migration of twitter users/artist caused by a certain multi-billionare's bone headed actions i haven't heard a thing from the site since.

As a newer user who never had a Twitter, it’s meh.

From what I can tell, it is less toxic than Twitter… if you follow the right people. It mostly just amounts to *less* of a dunk culture. There’s a lot of genAI crap. I think most of my followers were either blocked for being genAI users or removed for being bots. One of its bigger selling points is the ability to create your own feeds. It’s just a repackaging of the same over reliance on algorithm every other major site uses.

The only real good thing I can say about it over other sites is that you can follow a lot of comic artists, writers, or other “traditional media” people.

It’s not “I’ve already deleted my account” bad. But there’s a lot of “same old social media shit” that isn’t on NG or other more niche platforms. I can’t say you’re missing out. Even if you hypothetically just wanted to cynically build a following on the more popular site, I think NG has been kinder to me on that front.
